The 6th years visit the National Museum of Archeology

In the afternoon of Tuesday 4th October then the 6th years had a guided tour in the National Museum of Archeology of bronze and iron age artifacts that are on their Irish art history curriculum. It was agreed that our tour guide Annie was excellent and very helpful and informative on the topics.

Back to the 80's week 5

It was a busy day today so unfortunately not too many photos were taken! What the team did today was start to work up tone and texture details to many of the main features on the back drop followed by black outlines for bold definition. Ms. Keogh managed to get up the ladder and block in some of the spaces up high out of reach for the girls. Two of the flats began to take shape with some mint green paint and pattern. Lastly, the three piece prop began to be designed to represent Corey's bedroom. Another day of hard work by the set team!

Back to the 80's week 4

Week four of the set design was focused on continuing to block in all of the main features of our backdrop with strong and vivid colours as a base. This will allow for more specific details to be worked up next week.

Inktober

Ok girls I'm setting you all a challenge. Today is the 1 St of October, aka inktober. I challenge my 5 th yr student to take part in inktober.

Inktober rules:

1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).

2) Post it online

3) Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2016

4) Repeat

Note: you can do it daily, or go the half-marathon route and post every other day, or just do the 5K and post once a week. What ever you decide, just be consistent with it. INKtober is about growing and improving and forming positive habits, so the more you’re consistent the better.

Add #manorhouseart and we can all see what we are up to!!!!

That's it! Now go make something beautiful.

Back to the 80's Set Design

The new TY set team for Back to the 80's have been hard at work under the guidance of Ms.  Keogh the last couple of Thursdays - combining ideas to create their backdrop, protecting it onto the back wall, sketching it on, outlining it with paint, and finally today starting to block it in with colour! Lots of hard work done so far, well done everyone.
